Panels to improve civic amenities formed

Three committees have been formed by the State Government to examine issues related to civic amenities and services of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) and power supply in the city.

During a recent review meeting on Swachh Hyderabad initiative, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao suggested formation of committees to examine major issues for these bodies and sought recommendations for improvement of civic amenities and services in the city.

In the orders issued on Thursday, the State government formed the committee for the civic body and HMWSSB with MPs K. Keshava Rao, Asaduddin Owaisi, Ch. Malla Reddy and K. Vishweshwar Reddy, apart from MLC Syed Aminul Hasan Jafri and MLAs Akbaruddin Owaisi, K. Laxman, Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, K.P. Vivekananda and T. Prakash Goud as members.
