Outperforms AP

Telangana has beat its twin, Andhra Pradesh, on more than one count of social exclusion, the SECC data revealed. While the total number of rural households without land was 58 per cent in Telangana, in AP it was as high as 73 per cent.

Also, the number of landless households which are highly dependent on manual casual labour was 34.55 per cent in Telangana, in AP it remained at a high 48.46 per cent.

Even in the salaried sector Telangana did better than AP as the latter had only 4.56 per cent rural households that had a salaried member.

The figure was 7.64 per cent in Telangana.

Also just 1.93 per cent of rural households in AP had at least one government servant as against 2.73 per cent in Telangana.

Even in income tax rates, Telangana beat AP as just 2.9 per cent of the latter’s rural population paid income or professional tax.
