It was a dream come true for 30-odd orphans of Oasis Orphanage here on Sunday.

The trip was facilitated by the Sulakhya Seva Samithi, a non-governmental organisation. Speaking to

The Hindu , its founder Santhosh Manduva said the event was conducted with the help of a Non-Resident Indian couple Abhishek Raghav Devulapally and Shravya who wished to celebrate the first birthday of their son Anunay in a befitting manner.

They wanted their friends not to bring gifts but donate little sums so that they could afford a good meal or present a gift to the orphans.

Trainee Indian Police Service officer Bandaru Ranjith, who came to the city to visit his parents, spent some time with the orphan children.
