The vital organs of a 39-year-old software professional running his own company and who was declared brain dead, have been donated through the Jeevandan programme following grief counselling to the family members.

B. Sasikanth, a resident of Kukatpally’s Bhagyanagar Colony, was admitted to a private hospital following complaint of severe giddiness. He was later shifted to another hospital for better treatment. On October 22, doctors declared him brain dead when the coordinator of Jeevandan programme gave counselling to the family members and explained the importance of organ donation.

Sasikanth’s wife Shilpa gave her consent for organ donation to Jeevandan and the same have been distributed according to the online procedure framed by the sub-committees of Jeevandan. He is also survived by a six-year-old son, a press release said.
