A person travelling in a Toyota Qualis van died while three others got critically injured after it went up the median on the Outer Ring Road at Medchal and rammed into an oncoming i20 car here on Wednesday. All the injured were shifted to a near-by private hospital.
Soon after the collision, flames erupted in the car and the person driving it too sustained severe injuries. The car got completely gutted, Medchal Inspector Shashank Reddy told The Hindu. The accident occurred at around 3 p.m. near the toll gate at Medchal.
“Person driving the Quails coming from Gachibowli side apparently lost control due to high speed. It hit the median and flung into the air,” the Inspector said. The vehicle landed on the other side of the road hitting an oncoming car from Medchal side.
