US employee recognition and engagement firm O.C. Tanner plans to raise the headcount at its Hyderabad facility. Noting that the centre in Gachibowli was formally opened on Thursday, Chief Technology Officer Niel Nickolaisen said the company was looking to take the headcount from 18 to 35 in a year.
In an interaction with presspersons, Mr. Nickolaisen and vice-president - Software Product Steve Fairbanks highlighted the contribution of the facility to the global operations of the $500 million firm. The team in Hyderabad will support the global team in the areas of product customisation, in development of the company’s Android mobile applications besides providing ongoing test engineering support for existing customer applications.
The company plans to recruit more people in Hyderabad to undertake an overhaul of the software administration tools. The team, a release said, would deliver programme level Application Programing Interfaces (APIs) to enable deeper integration between OC Tanner’s technology platform and the world’s leading engagement and collaboration software providers.

Our focus in 2016 -2017 is to develop a diverse skillset that will be future ready for all our clients and brands, said Mr. Nickolaisen, adding that the market for O.C. Tanner solutions in India was growing. The company catered to 70 clients in India and with introduction of a specialised team here it would be able to customise solutions for the Indian customers.
O.C. Tanner, which globally employs around 1,600 people, entered the Indian market in 2014 to design and help implement global employee rewards and recognition solutions for its clients.
