NTPC celebrates Teej festival with fanfare

Shiv-Parvati skit and Teej Queen were key attractions

The NTPC ladies club members participating in various cultural progarmmes as part of Hariyali Teej festival in NTPC Ramagundam on Wednesday.

The Deepthi Mahila Samithi, ladies club of NTPC Ramagundam, celebrated Hariyali Teej with fanfare on its premises on Wednesday evening. Sandhya Jain, in-charge president of Deepthi Mahila Samithi inaugurated the programme and spoke on the significance of the event.

The colourful programmes featured bhajans, group & solo dance, Shiv-Parvati skit, Kajri songs, fashion walk along with some fun games. The major attraction of the programme was the Teej Queen competition wherein Swati Raj (age group 20-40), Suhasini (age group 40-50) and Padmalata (age group 50-60) won the competition.

Few women also got awards in different categories like: Kohinoor of Ramagundam – NTPC Hospital Chief Medical Officer Sashmita Dash, all-rounder of Ramagundam - Viji Ramchndran, Evergreen of Ramagundam - S.B. Laxmi, Charming lady - Laxmi Radhamohan, Gorgeous Lady - Padmashree Vimla, Dynamic Lady - Ezhilars Ravindran.

Later, Sandhya Jain along with senior officials of the ladies club presented the Teej Queen crown and other awards to the winners. On this occasion, Manisha Nograiya, secretary of the ladies club; Ratna Kumari Babji, in-charge, Bal Bhavan and other office bearers and members of Deepthi Mahila Samithi were present.
