“Prudhviraj was picked up from his house in Gangavaram of Krishna district in AP four days ago along with Chandan,” counsel for the petitioner Raghunath said. They were illegally detained by the A.P. police for past four days.

When asked about the official announcement of East Godavari district police that the two men were arrested on charge of conspiring to kill University of Hyderabad Vice-Chancellor, the lawyer said that didn’t wipe out the sanctity of habeas corpus petition completely. The two Governments were directed to reply on the matter by Monday.
