Minister for Information Technology K.T. Rama Rao on Friday said he has nothing negative against people who hail from Andhra Pradesh.
Among priorities for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi he said, are supply of potable water, maintaining law and order and making sure that locals get jobs in all the new private ventures that were coming up in the State.
A question and answer session on Twitter with Mr. Rama Rao virtually went viral on Friday evening with people, a majority of them from Hyderabad flooding the platform with tweets on the twitter handle @WeAreHyderabad with hashtag #AskKTR. Among issues that figured in the session were the cash-for-vote, development of Hyderabad as a global city and of when the Telangana State Public Service Commission would take up recruitment to fill up vacancies in government departments.

To a question as to why Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was being ‘spared’ in the cash-for-vote case, he quipped, “What makes you think he is being spared? Law takes its own course.”
And when a netizen said, “No arrest of ‘Boss’ in the case,” he answered, “In our country judicial system has its own process to follow.”
Asked about business processing outsourcing (BPO) units in Tier II cities like Karimnagar and Warangal, Mr. Rama Rao said one BPO each is coming up in the two locations and proposals for more were in the pipeline. As for plans to spread Information Technology companies around Hyderabad, he said the government is already working on it, planning clusters around and looking to develop places like Adhibatla and Uppal, apart from Medchal, where he inaugurated a unit of the mobile phone ‘Celkon’ brand. When a person said there were more opportunities in Bengaluru than Hyderabad for IT professions, the Minister agreed but said confidently that a few years down the line it would be other way round.
