TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao met a special guest who sold ‘ice gola’ (scraped ice over which is sprayed an edible colour) in front of the gate of St. George’s Grammar School at Abids where the former did his schooling.
Their meeting at the Chief Minister’s camp office was a sequel to a tweet by a youth Mahboob Ali two weeks ago, reminding Mr. Rao that he used to buy ice gola from ‘Chaush’ (70) at school. The same person wanted to meet him.
Responding to the tweet, Mr. Rao invited Mr. Chaush (real name Syed Ali) and enquired about his welfare. Mr. Chaush replied that he underwent open heart surgery last year and that he continued to sell ice golas at Grammar School to this day. Realising that Mr. Chaush was on bad times, Mr. Rao announced sanction of a house to the poor man beside a monthly pension. His sons would also be provided suitable employment, he said.
