NMDC CMD stresses better mine safety standards

NMDC Chairman and Managing Director N. Baijendra Kumar has emphasised the need for improving safety standards in mining.

He also stressed on enabling the public sector mining company to attain zero abrasion.

The public sector miner had improved safety standards in its mines.

The process could continue in every sphere of mining through continuous monitoring so as to become the safest and eco-friendly mining company of the country.

Mr. Baijendra Kumar was speaking at the 28th corporate-level safety committee meeting of Kirandul, Bacheli, Donimalai and Panna mines held here on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by functional directors of the NMDC and officials of the directorate-general of mines safety.

The representatives of the unions made an in-depth analysis of mine accidents, safety initiatives and improvements and safety measures that should be taken to achieve zero harm.
