NIMS employee held for stealing file from hospital

The Punjagutta police arrested V. Sridhar, financial controller of NIMS along with an attender Ravi Kumar, on charge of stealing a file from the hospital. The police said that Sridhar was placed under suspension by the NIMS authorities in May over some financial irregularities that took place during his tenure.

A committee was constituted to enquire Sridhar’s role. “The committee submitted its report recently and the file was in the custody of HR Department. Fearing disciplinary action against him, Sridhar with the help of Ravi Kumar stole file,” the police said.

Basing on a complaint lodged by NIMS authorities, police registered a case and arrested the duo.

Two students drown

Bodies of two students from Borabanda who were missing since Friday were retrieved from a tank in Kukatpally on Sunday morning. The teenagers S.K. Sameer and S.K. Moinuddin both 13-year-olds studying in seventh standard at an Urdu medium school in S. R Nagar went to the Maisamma Kunta near Moosapet goods shed for a swim and reportedly drowned, the police said.

Locals who found their bodies in the tank alerted police who rushed to the spot and retrieved them. The bodies were handed over to the family members after conducting a post-mortem examination at Gandhi Hospital.
