A drug racket involving a Nigerian, who had been flying to India on business visa for past few months, was busted by the Hyderabad police on Wednesday.

The Nigerian, Namneka, Peter and Hameed, all operating from Bangalore were caught when they came here to supply narcotic drugs. Sixty grams of cocaine and 43 ‘masculine’ tablets were seized from them.

The Hyderabad Police Commissioner’s Task Force sleuths had spread out a dragnet for the accused after receiving an input that the Nigerian was supplying drugs to some “known customers” here.

Investigation revealed the foreigner had been coming to India on business visa for past several months. He used to live in Bangalore and came in contact with Peter and Hameed.

Through the duo, the Nigerian allegedly started supplying narcotic drugs to customers in Hyderabad. “This was going on for past eight months,” the TF (Central) team officials who busted the racket said.

On learning about the gang’s operations in Hyderabad, the TF authorities laid trap and caught the trio on Wednesday. The operation was conducted by TF DCP P. Rameshaiah.
