N. Baijendra Kumar, a 1985 batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre, on Wednesday assumed charge as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of NMDC Ltd. Earlier, he was holding the post of Additional Chief Secretary to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, as well as Commerce and Industries and Energy Departments. During his 32-year service he held positions of Collector and Principal Secretary. He also headed the administration of the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, a release from NMDC said. Mr. Baijendra Kumar has rich and varied experience in administration, and public relations., information and broadcasting both at the Centre and at the State level. He was instrumental in streamlining numerous projects of Chhattisgarh Government, the release said.
