Need to revamp judicial system stressed

Supreme Court Judge Madan B. Lokur has said that the need of the hour was to revamp judicial delivery system to provide affordable justice expeditiously to the poor.

Unfortunately, not much happened in the matter and, by every passing day, pendency in the Supreme Court and High Court piled up. Justice Lokur was speaking at a national conference on ‘Emerging challenges before Indian judiciary,’ organised by the association of retired judges of Supreme Court and High Courts of India in association with Telangana government. Former Chief Justice of India R.C. Lahoti said innumerable matrimonial disputes are pending in courts. Acting Chief Justice of AP and Telangana High Court Dilip B. Bhosale, Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma were present.
