Narrow escape for passengers as bus catches fire

Passengers commuting in a TSRTC bus had a narrow escape when minor fire broke out, reportedly due to a short circuit. No causalities were reported in the incident.

The incident took place at 9 a.m when the Metro Express bus belonging to Jeedimetla bus station was on its way to Secunderabad. As the bus reached Patny road the driver noticed smoke emanating from the electrical wiring and stopped the bus in the middle of the road.

Even as the panicked passengers were getting down the bus caught fire.

A fire tender from Secunderabad Snorkel Station rushed to the spot and extinguished the flames. Following the incident, traffic came to a standstill for sometime on the busy thoroughfare.

Later, the traffic policemen towed away the bus and cleared by the traffic by deploying additional personnel.

Cell phone tower fire

In a separate case, a cell phone tower installed on a double storied building at B. S. Makhta caught fire early on Thursday resulting in panic in the thickly populated area. On receipt of information, a fire tender from Secunderabad Fire station rushed to the spot and took up the fire fighting operation that lasted for around half-an-hour.
