Loans to help small businesses get financial autonomy

Helping hand: Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhthar Abbas Naqvi, Finance Minister Eatala Rajender and former Union minister Bandaru Dattatraya at the Mudra Promotion Campaign in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Union Minister for Minorities Welfare Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Thursday launched here the promotional campaign of Prime Minister’s Mudra Yojana, an institution set up for development and refinancing activities relating to micro units.

At the function held at Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy Stadium, he said the Yojana was started to help provide financial autonomy to small businesses.

Loans to the extent of ₹9.13 crore were distributed from 2015.

Finance Minister Eatala Rajender said the Telangana government distributed loans of ₹3,700 crore under various welfare programmes. He urged the Centre to sanction ₹200 crore for setting up minority schools.

The meeting was also addressed by Principal Finance Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, convenor of State level bankers committee U.N. Maya and former Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya.
