The stage is set for the Mudra Promotion Campaign to be held in the city on Thursday.
Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi will inaugurate the Mudra camp at Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium at 10.30 a.m. in the presence of State Finance Minister Eatala Rajender. The camp features 63 stalls, including 35 banks that have presence in the State in addition to SIDBI, NABARD, UIDAI and NPCI.
The camp is being organised to educate people on the opening of bank accounts, Aadhaar seeding and authentication with the consent of the account holder, mobile seeding of bank accounts, enrolment under various insurance schemes launched by the Central government and facilitate agriculture credit and credit through self help groups.

It would include creation of awareness among merchants on boarding for various digital payments, coverage of merchants with Bharat QR coding and downloading BHIM Aadhaar pay app.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, Finance Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania said the camp was being organised as part of the Union Finance Ministry’s nationwide campaign to promote digital transactions. It was aimed at roping in more merchants/traders under the BHIM app and would feature participation of students, merchants, SHGs and other sections.
The day-long camp would feature education on different categories of loans that could be availed of through Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and start-up India scheme under which loans above ₹10 lakh and upto ₹1 crore could be obtained without collateral. The MPCI, on its part, would create awareness among the visitors on digital transactions.

Digital payment mode
He said digital transactions increased significantly after demonetisation announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 8 last. But there was pressure on digital transactions ever since cash was restored in the system. “Cash transactions, however, have not gone back to the older levels. There is still a need to promote digital payment mode and hence the camp,” he said.
