The withdrawals were made from two ATMs at Thumkunta in RR district and Secunderabad

Unidentified persons withdrew Rs.2.40 lakh cash from the savings account of a businesswoman residing in West Marredpally.

In her complaint, Madhoo Rawat of West Marredpally said she was holding a savings account in Axis Bank in West Marredpally branch. On Monday, she came to know through the bank that her account was debited with Rs.2.40 lakh through cash withdrawals from two ATMs at Thumkunta in Ranga Reddy district and Secunderabad.

The complainant said the transactions were made between December 2 and 9. Ms. Rawat further stated that she had recently gone to a resort in Shamirpet where she had given her debit card at the cash counter and disclosed the PIN number. The staff at the counter returned the card after swiping it for Rs.6,806. “The card was with me since then and I did not withdraw any amount,” she said.
