The model of Kaloji Kala Kshethram building, the construction of which is being planned by the State government at an estimated cost of Rs. 30 crore at Hanamkonda, was unveiled by Minister for Tribal Welfare and Cultural Affairs A. Chandulal here on Monday.
Speaking after releasing the poster of the building model, the Minister said the cultural centre would help Warangal regain its cultural identity and past glory in patronising arts to a large extent as it would be constructed along international standards. He stated that the government had already allotted three acres of land for the purpose at Balasamudram in Hanamkonda.
The cultural centre will have a state-of-the-art auditorium with a seating capacity of 1,000 besides an art gallery, library and lecture hall. The parking facility is being designed keeping in mind requirements for the next 50 years, the Minister said, adding that he was hopeful the centre would propagate Telangana culture and arts and encourage artistes, poets and writers.

Earlier in the day, speaking after inaugurating an exhibition on the new education policy in tribal welfare educational institutions, the Minister announced that the government would fill 2,544 teacher posts in tribal schools soon. The government is working towards improving its standing in tribal educational institutions, including introduction of the biometric attendance system, dial desk, installation of closed circuit cameras, provision of sports kits and others with Rs. 200 crore this year.
