Minister monitors arrangement for fish ‘prasadam’ distribution

Fisheries officials to provide 30% more fingerlings than previous year

HYDERABAD,TELANGANA,26/05/2018: Minister for Animal Husbandry and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Chief Secretary Government of Telangana Dr. Shailendra Kumar Joshi, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, Bathini Harinath Goud along with others official visited Nampally Exhibition Grounds to review the arrangements for Fish Prasadam Distribution Programme in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, on his visit to the Nampally exhibition grounds to monitor the arrangements for distribution of fish ‘prasadam’ by Bathini family, said that additional counters will be established for hassle-free distribution.

Coupons will be given to avoid rush, and 150 people have been given the duty of distribution in three shifts.

The Fisheries department is making arrangements for 30% more fingerlings than the previous year, when nearly two lakh people have availed the ‘prasadam’, touted to be the traditional treatment for asthma.

Mr. Yadav issued orders to officials for barricading, traffic control, queue lines, and drinking water supply. GHMC, R&B, Metro Water Works, Revenue, Fisheries, Police and Exhibition Society should work in coordination, he said.

About 800 volunteers will be deployed for distribution of food and water.

The Minister was accompanied by Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi, Commissioner of Fisheries Suvarna Rani, District Collector Yogitha Rana, Police Commissioner Anjan Kumar and Bathina Harinath Goud on his visit.

Later, Mr. Joshi held a separate meeting with officials on the arrangements, and advised them to make water and weather-proof arrangements.

He also asked for CCTV cameras to be installed at the venue, and proper sanitation facilities to be provided. Mobile toilets should be commissioned, and drinking water facilities should be provided, he said.

Ambulances, fire tenders

The Chief Secretary added that ambulances should be made available, and health camps may be run.

He also asked for fire tenders to be kept ready at the venue.

Principal Secretary Adhar Sinha also attended the meeting.
