Metro cash and carry to open its third centre at Shamshabad

Metro Cash & Carry will open the doors of its third outlet in the city at Shamshabad for the customers on June 25 and will serve small and mid-sized traders, caterers, restaurants and hotels in the area.

This will be the third in the city after Moosapet and Uppal. “We have invested Rs. 70 crore in the new wholesale centre, which is spread across 60,000 sft and offers free parking for all customers. The new outlet will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. everyday,” said Metro Cash and Carry India Managing Director Rajeev Bakshi.

This is the 17th outlet in the country and by 2020 the company plans to expand its network to 50 centres. He said that Hyderabad still has scope for two or more such outlets.

Mr. Bakshi said that the customers would find an assortment that is tailored especially for their needs, with competitive prices on fresh and dry groceries like rice, pulses and spices, fresh produce sourced directly from Telangana farmers apart from live bakery to cater to the needs of local restaurants and small offices.

The new outlet has created 300 local jobs including 150 indirect and the workforce has undergone rigorous training in various operational aspects.
