A 24-year-old man killed his ‘intoxicated’ brother-in-law in front of his sister for allegedly harassing her, police said on Thursday.
The victim was identified as Pagidipally Narender (36), a painter from Railapoor village under Medchal police station limits, while the accused was identified as Chinthal Harinath from the same village.
The incident took place around 4.30 p.m. at the instigation of the victim’s wife Ramadevi.

Earlier in the day, the couple had a heated argument over a domestic issue, following which Ramadevi called her brother Harinath. “Harinath rushed to the couple’s house and smashed a liquor bottle on the victim’s head and strangled him to death in the presence of Ramadevi,” Medchal inspector M Gangadhar said.
Police said Narender was addicted to vices and was spending money on liquor and playing cards.
A case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against Harinath and his sister Ramdevi.
