The actor had signed up a one-year association with the company to be its Brand Ambassador, said Mr. Bansal, going on to add that it was primarily because of his tremendous popularity among the youth that had made the company decide to work with him and improve its presence in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

As for Mahesh Babu himself, he said he was honoured to be associated with an Indian brand that was taking on the might of foreign brands. "Intex phones have substance, affordable pricing and are value for money. As for features, they are what people look for, in these handsets," he said.

Mr. Bansal said the Aqua Trend came with a 5" high-definition display, a 13 megapixel rear and 5 MP front camera that would take pictures with a resolution of 1280 X 720, apart from having a slow-motion video capture mode. "Most importantly, it has a 3,000 mAh battery that will last really long periods of time," he said, adding that it would be available in champagne, silver, grey and black colours in the market from August 10 onwards.
