Light rain likely in some parts of State

Rise in temperature over north and eastern parts of the State predicted

Light rain or thunder showers are expected at isolated places over some parts of the State during the second half of the week due to the prevailing north-south oriented trough passing through based on the weather model run at TS Development Planning Society of Planning Department, IMD and other sources.

There will also be a gradual rise of maximum temperatures over north and eastern parts of the State during the first half of the week. It will be in the range of 41°C to 44°C over north and eastern parts and in the remaining parts it is excepted to be in the range of 39°C to 42°C, while the minimum temperature will be in the range of 25°C to 29°C during the week.

Rain/thunder showers occurred at a few places over Mahabubnagar, Janagaon, Ranga Reddy, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Jayashankar-Bhupalpally and neighborhood because of the climatological anticyclone over Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea along with the associated north-south oriented trough.

Highest rainfall

Highest rainfall recorded 39 mm at Nawabpet and 38 mm at Maganoor (Mahabubnagar) on April 29, 26 mm at Bachannapet (Janagaon) on April 30, 28 mm at Shankarapalle (Ranga Reddy) on May 1, 23 mm at Bhadradri-Kothagudem on May 2, 27 mm at Burgampade (Bhadradri-Kothagudem) on May 3 and 33 mm at Mutharam (Jayashankar-Bhupalpally).

Maximum temperatures were slightly above normal at a few places over north and eastern parts of the state with average maximum temperature recorded 39°C to 42°C over Nirmal, Kamareddy, Jagtial, Rajanna-Sircilla, Komarambheem-Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalle, Jayashankar-Bhupalpally, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet districts on few days and the remaining part of the state were near normal in the range of 38°C to 40°C.
