Telangana Rashtra Samiti MLA K.T. Rama Rao who is tipped to be the Industries Minister of Telangana said that his party is focusing on creation of industrial clusters outside the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to give fillip to industrialisation in Hyderabad.
The matter was discussed at the recent legislature party meeting of TRS wherein K. Chandrasekhar Rao was elected as the legislature party leader, Mr. Rama Rao said while addressing industrialists of the city on Tuesday.
He said KCR has laid emphasis to design a master plan for development of Hyderabad by constructing radial roads for ORR which could also be used for the industrial clusters. The expansion of Metro Rail project from the targeted 72 km to 250 km was also discussed in view of development of Hyderabad as the information technology investment region, he said.

Mr. Rao assured that the TRS government would take all steps to make Hyderabad a vibrant city and growth engine for Telangana. He said power shortage is a major challenge in the next three years. The State would be power-deficit though its share in generation as part of bifurcation was fixed at 54 per cent, he noted.
Admitting that real estate sector was stagnant now in Telangana, he expected it to make gains in the next few months.
Earlier, industrialists lamented that power problems killed industry around Hyderabad. An iron foundry owner Suresh Kumar Singhal said one-third of steel industry was closed and the rest were running on ‘oxygen.’ Only 40 per cent of the demand for power was met which increased cost overheads, he elaborated. Industrialist Bishamber Dayal said intervention of local leaders in the running of industry is unacceptable.

Answering questions, Mr. Rama Rao said the party would consider withdrawal of fuel surcharge adjustment on power tariff after ensuring that the government is revenue-surplus.
