Kalam calls for development through empowerment

Former President A.P.J Abdul Kalam called for development through empowerment. India was a knowledge society and everyone should strive to be a member of this society, he said.

Dr. Kalam was interacting with students and faculty of the Mahindra Ecole Centrale (MEC) College of Engineering, here on Thursday. He suggested that the MEC faculty have a six-monthly interdisciplinary project focusing on innovation.

He also wanted the management style to be more of delegation.

Shivanand Raja, vice president, A.S. Murthy, CIO, Tech Mahindra, Sanjay Dhande, director, MEC, and Shailaja Ramaiyer, vice chancellor, JNTU, were present on the occasion.
