The Cyberabad Police on Friday arrested a 27-year-old private employee from Bangalore for allegedly harassing a city-based woman by uploading her fake profile in the social networking sites and threatening her for rejecting his love proposal.
N. Santosh Kumar alias Kiran, hailing Subramanyamnagar in Bangalore, developed friendship with the woman while pursuing a computer course in Bangalore.
Taking advantage of this, he created a fake Facebook profile and uploaded her photographs without her consent and sent friend requests.

He was also adding unknown people in the account in order to defame her, according to police.
Kumar took several SIM cards in the name of the woman and her family and harassed them by calling at night. He used to keep demanding that she accept his love.
He threatened her family of dire consequences if they sought marriage alliances for her. Kumar threatened to kill them if they failed to accede to his demands, said Janaki Sharmila, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, (Crimes) here on Friday.

Case registered
Based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s brother C.N. Madhusudhan, police registered a case against Kumar and nabbed him. Two passport size photographs of the girl, two SIM cards, two mobile phones and an employee ID card were recovered from his possession.
“The accused harassed the woman in the name of love. He even threatened her and her family members with dire consequences saying they should not look for other matches for her,” the Additional DCP said quoting the complaint lodged by the victim’s brother.
