YSRCP members walkout against arrest of CPI leaders

YSR Congress Party members staged a walkout from Andhra Pradesh Assembly in Hyderabad on Friday resenting the arrest and booking of CPI leaders under non-bailable sections during a recent dharna in Anantapur.

Making a mention of the issue during zero hour on Friday, Leader of Opposition Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy said that CPI State general secretary Ramakrishna and others were peacefully staging a dharna in protest against the indifferent attitude of the Centre and for not upholding its commitments towards Andhra Pradesh.

Faulting the Government for arresting and booking cases under non-bailable sections, he sought a statement from the government on the issue. He said the arrested leaders were remanded and sent to jail for 10 days.

Mr. Jagan said YSR Congress party were staging a walkout to express solidarity with the arrested CPI activists.
