IT exports touch Rs. 1,700 cr.

The IT exports from Andhra Pradesh are a mere 0.25 per cent of the same before bifurcation, and stand around Rs.1,600-1,700 crore now, informed Minister for Information Technology P.Raghunatha Reddy while answering a question on ITIR project.

The exports had been about Rs.60,000 crore in the united State, he informed the House, and assured the government’s commitment to bring back the glory.

Within the coming five years, the State will be made the topmost IT state and the hub of export, with IT exports raised to Rs.12,000 crore, he promised.

Five lakh jobs would be created in IT and four lakh in electronics, he said.
