Under the influence of heavy rains in coastal Andhra Pradesh, parts of Telangana and Hyderabad also received intermittent showers and maximum temperatures dropped by a degree or two.

Owing to low pressure across West Bengal and Odisha, the coastal parts of the State are receiving heavy rains and in the next 48 hours, parts of Telangana too could receive widespread rains, Hyderabad MET officials said.

Thanks to cloudy skies, the daytime temperatures in Hyderabad, which have been hovering between 31 and 33 degree Celsius since past week, have fallen by a good two degrees.

“Coastal AP is receiving heavy rainfall due to low pressure over West Bengal and Odisha. In another day, we would be able to exactly ascertain whether this low pressure will cause heavy rainfall in Telangana. Hyderabad and other districts in the region, said M. Narasimha Rao, Assistant Meteorologist, Hyderabad.

On Monday evening, several parts including Begumpet, Himayathnagar, Masab Tank and Khairatabad received moderate showers.

“The showers were trace and not measurable. The sky would remain cloudy and thunder clouds may develop towards evening or night. Maximum and minimum temperature tomorrow will remain 32 and 23 degree Celsius,” said Mr. Rao.
