Former Congress Union Minister Sarve Satyanarayana has been booked by police on charges of not allowing conduct of an official programme in connection with Ambedkar Jayanti and assaulting the local revenue inspector Ashwin Kumar, causing him injury on the nose at Kukatpally Y-junction.
It all started with Mr. Satyanarayana picking up an argument with Medchal Collector M.V. Reddy on the dais when the latter gave the mike to Kukatpally MLA M. Krishna Rao to address the gathering. Mr. Satyanarayana grabbed the mike and started criticising the State government, to which the MLA objected, saying political speeches could not be made at an official programmes. Mr. Satyanarayana was also told that he could not abuse the Collector, a release of Kukatpally police said.
Turning to the Collector, who was in the back row, Mr. Satyanarayana shouted at Mr. Reddy and pointed threateningly at him. He warned the Collector that the Congress would return to power in 2019 and that he would “see your end.”

At this, the revenue inspector intervened and told Mr. Satyanarayana not to behave rudely with the Collector. Mr. Satyanarayana then manhandled the official, leading to its abrupt end.
Earlier, Mr. Satyanarayana and his followers angrily trooped into the premises. The group walked up to the dais, ignoring pleas of police constables. Mr. Satyanarayana took to the dais, as the Collector welcomed him. Malkajgiri MP Ch. Malla Reddy and chairman of SC/ST Commission Errolla Srinivas were also present on the dais.
