HMDA seeks time for processing BPS files

April 18, 2013 11:51 pm | Updated 11:51 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Urban planning body HMDA has approached the government requesting it for time till April 30 to clear files under the Building Penalisation Scheme (BPS), some of which include pending fee payment and others where clearances are awaited for want of additional information.

HMDA officials said fee payments were pending at different zonal offices including 2,023 such instances with the Medchal zonal office, 150 cases with the Ghatkesar zone and 39 cases with the Shamshabad zonal office.

These apart, there are cases in which the applicants have been asked to furnish additional information for perusal of their petitions under the BPS. In this backdrop, HMDA Commissioner Neerabh Kumar Prasad has written to the government seeking time till the month-end to ensure that these cases are settled.

“The Commissioner has approached the government for permission on extension of the process. Some are about payment of the required fee and others about submission of information and documents that we have sought for clearance,” an official said.

Meanwhile, the HMDA also asked the applicants to desist from approaching others on matters of BPS.

“All those who have applied under the BPS have been informed about the status of their applications whether they have been permitted, rejected or more information is required. For those who did not receive the communication, we are holding zonal office-wise grievance redressal,” he said.
