A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court comprising acting Chief Justice N. V. Ramana, Justice Vilas Afzulpurkar ordered that a ‘status quo’ be maintained regarding Banjara Bhavan, Devidi Mahedi Nawaz Jung, Road No. 4 Banjara Hills which was removed from protected heritage list by the government recently.

The Bench granted this interim order while dealing with a writ petition filed by Forum for a Better Hyderabad through its secretary O.M. Debara.

The petitioner complained that the government deleted this building from the heritage list in spite of opposition by the Heritage Conservation Committee constituted by it.
