Hefty bonus to SCCL miners

The Telangana Government has announced a hefty bonus for the employees of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). Each employee would be getting Rs 40,000 bonus on an average as part of the productivity linked bonus package.

According to an official press release here on Monday, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has ordered for the payment of 20 per cent of the profits earned by the SCCL. As a result, the SCCL would also be paying Rs. 240 crore package as bonus, working out to Rs 40,000 each.

Mr. Rao also decided to provide employment opportunities to 3,100 “pending dependent” persons in the SCCL. This was one of the long pending demands of the coal miners.
