Indian Diaspora appreciate his work

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has been invited to attend the annual convention of American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (AFMI) for his efforts to provide irrigation to unirrigated lands in major portion of Telangana State.

The Federation, an international organisation of Indian Muslim Diaspora based in North America, had extended its invitation to Mr. Harish Rao urging him to participate in its annual convention themed “The emerging challenges to India’s secularism and pluralism” to be held at Chicago on October 7. It said it had planned to present the award of excellence to Mr. Rao for his approach to address the common man’s problems.

The flagship programme Mission Kakatiya supervised by Mr. Harish Rao in particular helped in restoring 17,000 irrigation tanks and provided water to 16 lakh acres of additional ayacut. This had brought “tremendous changes” in the Telangana rural economy, the federation said adding its president and president-elect were both from Telangana.
