The State Haj Committee has received a total of 18,080 applications for Haj-2014. The highest number of 8,839 applications received is from Hyderabad and least number of 5 from Srikakulam district. According to Prof. S.A. Shukoor, special officer, Haj Committee, 1,472 applications were received from the reserved categories of 70 plus and fourth time applicants. They will automatically be selected without ‘qurrah’.
