Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan would launch the fourth phase of Haritha Haram at the sprawling Markfed grounds at Padmanagar on the outskirts of Karimnagar on July 21 (Saturday).
On the same day, 1,000-odd students would take up plantation of saplings on the premises. The Governor would also distribute homestead saplings to some of the residents of Karimnagar town on the occasion.
Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad along with Municipal Commissioner K. Shashanka inspected the Markfed grounds and instructed the authorities concerned to make all arrangements for the plantation drive.

NALGONDA Staff Reporter adds: The fourth phase of Haritha Haram is likely to be inaugurated by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in Nalgonda district, said Minister for Energy and SC Development G. Jagadish Reddy here on Thursday.
The venue and date of the ceremony, however, were yet to be fixed, Mr. Reddy told reporters at the District Collectorate. It would be Mr. Rao’s second visit to the district for Haritha Haram, after he launched the first phase in July 2016 near Gundrampalli. Addressing officials from all departments, Mr. Reddy said Nalgonda has been given a target of planting two crore saplings, and 1.68 crore plants were ready to be planted in 137 nurseries in the district.

The Minister said the annual programme, though being organised by the government, was intended to look at the idea as a social responsibility, of planting and taking care of saplings.
On the occasion, District Collector Gaurav Uppal released a compilation of plants available with the Forest Department, and the programme’s working plan.
