Villagers helped Police lay the road in Kumaram-Bheem Asifabad district

Opening vistas: Adivasi youth staging a traditional dance to celebrate inauguration of the road to Gopera in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district on Wednesday.

Finally, the Adivasis of Gopera, Govena, Kolamguda and other far flung hamlets in Tiryani mandal of Kumram Bheem district got connected to the rest of the world on Wednesday.

The much longed for road connecting them to Modiguda, located about 7 km away was inaugurated by Karimnagar Range Deputy Inspector General of Police Ravi Verma and KB Asifabad Superintendent of Police Sunpreet Singh and the Telangana State RTC ran a service on the road.

This is the first time that a police officer of DIG rank visited these parts which were among the most extremist affected places in the erstwhile Adilabad district. Another aspect of the road is the participation of villagers in its laying. The area had been crying for development and the key to it was connectivity of the hamlets with outside world. This was noticed by the SP during the last few months when he travelled to the interiors of the district and interacted with villagers. Now, the Adivasis can even reach Dandepalli mandal leave alone Tiryani mandal headquarters and beyond. The road has literally opened up new vistas for the tribals.
