The collection of Rs.105 crore is quite high as it was just for the GHMC, which during the same month last year, could just cross the Rs. 30 crore mark.
“In the last 20 days, more than 2.50 lakh property owners availed of the benefit,” an official said.
Response positiveADVERTISEMENT
GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar described the response as very positive in the given circumstances as the bill collectors drafted for poll duties too were not available for taking up collection.
On extending the early bird offer, he said it had come through a government order and hence, could not be extended.
In terms of property tax revenues during the month of April in the last few years, the civic body received Rs. 30 crore in the year 2010-11, Rs.19 crore in 2011-12, Rs. 42 crore in 2012-13 and Rs.34 crore in 2013-14.
