Fire destroys plastic materials godown

Property worth several lakhs of rupees was gutted when fire broke out in the godown of a plastic materials company late on Sunday night. No casualties were reported in the incident.

According to fire department officials the fire began at around 1 a.m. in the four-storied building located in Gandhinagar area of Balanagar. Huge flames emanated from the complex creating panic in the entire industrial area.

On receipt of information, seven fire tenders from different fire stations rushed to the spot and took up fire fighting exercise. It took more than four hours for the officials to douse the fire.
