Three girls rescued, sent to State rehabilitation home

Police on Saturday midnight raided a farmhouse owned by a real-estate businessman at Tondupally on the city suburbs and arrested 20 people for participating in a weekend party organised in violation of norms.

The son of a politician from the city was among the arrested persons, the police said. Three girls from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh were rescued from the farmhouse. They were later sent to the State rehabilitation home, said Chevella Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shilpa Valli, on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off, a 15-member police team led by Ms. Valli raided the farmhouse around 1.30 a.m. and found the owner Sudhakar and his friends, mostly businessmen from the city, playing cards. They were also found to be playing music at high volume.

“After entering the farmhouse, we checked the rooms and found three girls,” the DSP said. Cases under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act were registered against Sudhakar and his friends. They were arrested and produced before the magistrate.

“It’s not a rave party as we have not found any traces of drugs,” she explained, adding that Sudhakar hosted the party.
