Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has asked the members of the farmers coordination committees at different levels to play a proactive role in resolving the issues faced by farmers.
The coordination panels have an important responsibility of working in tandem with the officials to ensure that all farmers received the benefits under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. They should work in coordination with the officials to ensure that farmers utilised the stocks of seeds, fertilisers and other inputs positioned for the next crop season so that productivity was increased significantly.
Launching the Rythu Bandhu scheme at Huzurabad in Karimnagar district, the Chief Minister stressed the need for effective coordination between the elected representatives and administrative machinery to ensure that the benefits reached the last mile. “Ours is a new State and we should continue the hard work to ensure that the goals for which the separate Statehood movement was launched are achieved,” he said.

The State should reach a stage where crops were grown on demand, he said adding that the coordination committees should be in active consultation with farmers to ensure that the end product reached the markets in an organised manner. “Farmers should ensure that their products reached the markets in an organised manner, instead of rushing them at once, so that they will get their due. The farmers coordination committees can play an active role in this regard,” he said.
Upper caste poor
The Chief Minister said following the requests from the poor in upper castes, the government had decided to give assistance to these families too. He said he would work out the modalities in consultation with Finance Minister Eatala Rajender and senior officials and the scheme would be announced soon.

“Ours is a government that has kept in mind the requirements of all sections including the poor in the upper castes. A scheme will be announced soon that will alleviate the plight of the poor,” he said.
