For the first time in the history of AP High Court, the conventional farewell function arranged by advocates association to an outgoing chief justice was marred by slogan shouting and walkout by a section of advocates. Chief Justice Nissar Ahmad Kakru was given farewell by the Bench and Bar on Monday. He is retiring after 32 months of tenure here as chief justice.
Slogan shouting
After the address of the Advocate General Sudarshan Reddy in Court Hall Number One, the Chief Justice addressed the advocates in the renovated hall of the advocates association after the sloganeering and walked out. He made it clear that he bore no ill will towards anyone.

It may be recalled that nearly 900 advocates ventilated grievance about the outgoing chief justice, vis-à-vis his functioning on judicial side. The executive decided to go ahead with the farewell function.
