The Special Operations Team (West) of Cyberabad police on Wednesday raided a house at Rajendranagar and seized a huge quantity of explosive substances. Six persons were held, while Yelliah, the man who brought the material, is on the run.
The police team found 1,620 detonators, 1,350 gelatin sticks, 30 kg of ammonia powder, 20 connecting wire bundles and a blasting box at the house.
“Yellaiah sold the material to contractors and construction workers without a licence. The persons who were apprehended told us that the explosive substances are used for blasting rocks at construction sites,” SOT (West) Inspector J Venkat Reddy said.
