EU film fest to start tomorrow

24 films from 23 countries to be screened at 10-day fest

Hyderabad Film Club is organising the 23rd European Union Film Festival from August 10 to 19 at Sri Sarathi Studios in Ameerpet here. In this festival, 24 films from 23 countries of the European Union will be screened.

The inaugural function will be held on August 10 at 6 p.m., informed Bh. S.S. Prakash Reddy, secretary of Hyderabad Film Club and film director Relangi Narasimha Rao on Wednesday.

The fest is travelling through 11 cities. It started from New Delhi and then moved on to Chennai, Port Blair, Pune, Puducherry, Kolkata, Jaipur, Visakhapatnam and Thrissur before stopping by in Hyderabad and then heading to Goa.

Films will be screened with English subtitles. Entry is for 18+ persons and will be on a first come, first served basis, he said. Federation of Film Societies of India, Sri Sarathi Studios, Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting; Directorate of Film Festivals and Delegation of European Union to India are bringing the fest here.
