For ascertaining the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) levels in the States this year, the Centre will take into account the feedback received from the users in addition to the proof submitted by the respective government.
Responding to the information provided by Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce Jayesh Ranjan, at a review meeting here on Friday, Chief Secretary S.P.Singh directed all departments concerned to create awareness of the reforms introduced by them.
Mr.Singh, who chaired the meeting, urged them to also migrate to online systems for clearing the applications from July 1. There is a need to hold regular meetings with the departments, particularly those that are lagging behind, he told Mr. Ranjan.

Telangana and Andhra Pradesh had topped the EODB rankings in 2016. For the current year, PwC has been appointed as the consulting agency for the EODB project monitoring services.
An official release on the meeting said the Central Government’s Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion had communicated the final version of Business Reform action plan for improving EODB for 2017 that comprises 405 questions. Four new departments have been included taking the number of total departments whose work would be assessed to 12. A clutch of senior officials, including those from the departments of Revenue, Labour, MA & UD and Commercial Taxes, besides of the Pollution Control Board, GHMC, TSSPDCL and HMWSSB as well as the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and CEO of the Chasing Cell attended the meeting.
Undertaking a review of the present status of compliance, Mr.Singh advised them issue necessary orders for compliance of all the reforms. The deadline for issuing all executive orders is May 31, while that for all the online systems to be put into force is June 30.
