Engineer held for fake diamond sale

The police on Saturday caught seven persons, including a civil engineer and two real estate businessmen, for reportedly trying to sell a fake diamond.

The accused have been identified as T. Chandrabose (44), a civil engineer and resident of Visakhapatnam, V. Vishwanath Raju (45) and Gadi Raju Murali Krishnam Raju (40), both residents of Kukatpally Housing Board Colony, M. Renuka Prasad (44) of Chandanagar, D. Naresh (30) of Malkajgiri, K. Bala Gopal (40) of Ramnagar and G. Ramesh (32) of East Marredpally. The gang planned to earn money easily by selling a fake diamond for Rs.1.25 crore saying it was original .
