After almost four months of vacation students will step into engineering colleges on September 10 if the ongoing agitations against the bifurcation issue come to a halt. The process of engineering counselling will begin on August 19 with the verification of certificates at helpline centres across the State. The verification will continue till August 30 as more than two lakh students have to attend the verification of certificates.
However, students can give their web options for selection of colleges and courses from August 22 to September 3. If students prefer to change the options they can do so finally on September 4. Seats will be allotted on September 5 and the classes will begin on September 10, according to the schedule released by the APSCHE.
Candidates who secured 45 per cent (OC) and 40 per cent (SC/ST/BC) in group subjects of Intermediate or the equivalent examination are only eligible for admission as pescribed by the AICTE.

Physically handicapped (PH), children of armed personnel (CAP), Anglo-Indian, sports and games and National Cadet Cops (NCC) should attend the certificate verification only at Sanketika Vidya Bhavan, Masab Tank. The schedule is available on https://apeamcet.nic.in.
B category seats
With regard to admissions in the ‘B’ category, colleges have to follow the directions of the A.P. High Court. They also have to follow the guidelines given in the G.O. No 74. Students have to pay the processing fee of Rs. 600 (OC and BC) and Rs. 300 (SC and ST) at the time of the certificate verification. Tuition fee particulars and seats available under convenor quota college wise will be made available on the website https://apeamcet.nic.in well before the commencement of option entries. Officials said that if the atmosphere is not conducive for counselling due to the agitations, a decision on any postponement will be taken on August 18.
