The State government has decided conduct elections for the primary agricultural cooperative societies (PACS) in the integrated Karimnagar district in the last week of January or first week of February 2019, according to official sources here on Thursday.
Accordingly, the cooperative department would publish and release the list of the primary agricultural cooperative societies members in the respective societies on Friday.
The department would collect any objections to the membership till December 21and the final list of members would be released on December 30 and the list submitted to the State cooperative department for the conduct of elections.

Incidentally, the State government had extended the term of the PACS which expired on February 4, 2018 without conducting the elections following the bifurcation of integrated Karimnagar districts into four districts and merger of some other primary agricultural cooperative societies in three other mandals.
After completion of the Assembly elections and formation of new government in the State, the cooperative department was entrusted the job of conduct of elections to all the PACS. The integrated Karimnagar district is having 127 PACS and the district cooperative central bank (DCCB) would act as its apex body. Now, after bifurcation of the district, the PACS would be distributed in various districts and they would elect the DCCB chairman in respective districts after elections to PACS.
